Platinum Bank Took Gold and Silver at Effie Awards
At the international contest of efficient advertising Effie Awards for 2014, Platinum Bank got several prizes in different nominations:
- Gold among the financial and insurance companies’ ads.
- Silver in the category of low-budget ads.
- Marketing team of the bank was recognized as the best in the financial market in 2014.
Such success can be explained by the non-standard and even a bit bold approach to marketing communications, which has long become a signature mark of Platinum Bank. The ad, in which Platinum Bank answered to the competitor’s claim “Who else, if not us?” with its message “Well… US!” in April 2014, became very popular in the internet, although it was placed only on one ad board in Kyiv.
“This, seemingly simple, but very efficient move gave us about 800,000 of views and an enormous amount of likes, shares and comments in social networks, becoming a real sensation. It helped us to get across to our potential clients that Platinum is a Ukrainian bank. And it was in April, when 24% of our new deposit clients learned about us from the internet – it’s a great achievement.
Our success at Effie proves that biting humour, which is commonly called “trolling” and which we actively use in our ad communications, gains the official status of efficient marketing tool,” - says Mila Bedrenets, Head of Marketing Department of Platinum Bank.
