Platinum Bank has moved to a new level of non-financial reporting

Platinum Bank presented its Sustainable Development Report named “2011: Path to Sustainable Future”, in accordance with the international standard “Global Rep orting Initiative” (version G3), the level «B» of assignment. Every year, the Bank reports on compliance with the principles of the UN Global Compact.

It is the second year in which the Bank submits its reports on sustainable development, however the level of assignment in the 2011 Report was raised, in accordance with the international standard GRI. The first report was prepared by the Platinum Bank with the level "C" of assignment, and the report for 2011 was released with the level "B". This year the Bank has delivered a greater number of GRI indicators, which were identified in correlation with the banking business. The CSR Committee of the Bank approved all the processes for identification of important issues.

"Our activities in the field of CSR are developing and improving every year, and we are pleased that we can present the results of that development to the public. It is particularly important that we were able to move to a new level and deliver many more indicators in such a short period of time, which is within one year. We understand that the preparation of a progress report is our annual commitment under the UN Global Compact, which we will comply with in the future, as well as it is a tool of transparency and accountability of our Bank to our stakeholders such as clients, shareholders, employees, and society. We hope that this Report encompasses all the processes that are important to our stakeholders in 2011" said Todd Esposito, Chair of CSR Committee, CFO Platinum Bank.

In its 2011 Sustainable Development Report, the Bank highlighted the issues of financial literacy, accessibility to financial services, and the “Platinum Standards”, which is an a special internal policy code for employees allowing us to regulate and govern the work processes and the interaction within the Bank.

During the year, both the CSR Policy itself and projects under implementation have been modified, as they have become more strategically focused and effective. Why do we manage to do that? This is because we believe in what we do. We believe and stay tuned to our customers, make adjustments to our work and focus on the wishes of stakeholders" commented Viktoriya Mikhno Victoria, Member of CSR Committee, Head of Corporate Communications, Platinum Bank.

The organization “Center for CSR Development in Ukraine” provided its advisory support to preparation of the Sustainable Development Report. "The Center was honored to work with the company which is continuously striving for self-improvement, including its corporate social responsibility. A distinctive feature of this Report is that it provides a structured information on the issues which are essential for the Bank and its stakeholders and a disclosure of more indicators than in the previous report" commented Marina Saprykina, Director of Expert Organization" Center for CSR Development".
