Platinum Bank Presented the Financial Literacy Project “Platinum Posidelki for Grown-Ups”
On the 11th of November 2014 Platinum Bank presented the financial literacy project “Platinum Posidelki [Platinum Parties] for Grown-Ups”. Within the framework of the project were elaborated five topic-based meetings, which are organized by the employees of the bank on the free-of-charge basis all over Ukraine as a corporate volunteering activity.
Within the framework of the project Platinum Bank offers the financial literacy meetings on the following topics:
• Family budget: how can we make it efficient?
• Saving and multiplying your money: how can you make it earn you more?
• Where can one get the money: friends, pawn office, bank?
• Bank card: how not to get trapped?
• Bank at home: how can money and time be saved with the help of internet banking?
“Improving the financial literacy of Ukraine’s population is one of the priority and strategic goals of the bank in CSR. According to the USAID research, which was conducted in 2010, only 40% of the people of Ukraine have satisfactory knowledge in the financial sphere. And this problem is true for the whole country. That is why in 2010 we created the project “Platinum Posidelki [Platinum Parties] for Children”. During these 5 years over 35,000 children visited these educational meetings all over Ukraine. But we saw that not only children need to gain the financial knowledge, but grown-ups as well. Many think about how they can save time and money, multiply their funds. Some ask themselves the following questions: “How can I protect myself from financial fraudsters?”, “What is the best way to plan the family budget?” and “Where do I get the money if I urgently need it?”. Our employees have elaborated the educational meetings, which would be useful and interesting to practically any Ukrainian,” - says Viktoriya Mykhno, Head of the CSR Committee, Head of PR of Platinum Bank.
The project was joined by the law firm Sayenko Kharenko, which has elaborated the educational lecture on the topic “Informational Hygiene on the Internet”. “Sayenko Kharenko organizes annual social programmers for students since 2008. This year we decided to broaden our social activities and joined several new initiatives, including the project “Platinum Posidelki [Platinum Parties] for Grown-Ups”. We believe that helping people to better understand technologies we make everyone’s life more interesting and help country in the whole to make a step towards informational economics,” – comments Nikita Polataiko, coordinator of the IT group of the LF Sayenko Kharenko.
At the presentation of the project, Platinum Bank announced about the contest for the public organizations. In order to take a part in it, it is necessary to gather a group of 10 to 20 people and invite the employee of the bank to conduct the educational meeting. TOP-3 organizations, which gather the largest amount of people for participation in any educational meetings during the period from the 1st of December 2014 till the 1st of March 2015, will receive as a gratitude for their help in developing the project:

The winners will be defined by the CSR committee of Platinum Bank.
It is important to forward knowledge and skills to other Ukrainians. Spreading this knowledge we can help many people to confidently make financial decisions in their future.
